French researchers established a reliable MRI assessment algorithm to rule out a very rare nasty tumour of the uterus that can be masquerading as the very common fibroid. Now women who want to avoid hysterectomy can be reliably reassured and put as ease that the tumour they have in their uterus is indeed a benign fibroid.

Once proven benign by this new MRI algorithm, women can choose uterine sparing treatments like UFE to shrink fibroids instead of having a hysterectomy.

They no longer have to worry about the remote possibility of that fibroid being potentially nasty (cancerous).

This is a great news for women who are suffering from menstrual issues and pressure symptoms due to fibroids. Women might now want to consider UFE as an alternative to hysterectomy. UFE is non-surgical, less invasive and without the long-term side-effects of a hysterectomy.
